Account Executive – Inside Sales (2 Positions)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Inside Sales Account Executive will be responsible for selling electronic components and semiconductors to international manufacturing companies. The Account Executive is responsible for developing, prospecting, servicing and nurturing a customer account base. The right candidates will extract requirements and purchase orders, negotiate sales variables and close sales orders. The AE is responsible for meeting or exceeding the performance standards set forth by the Sales Manager.

DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Sells electronic components to new and existing customers
  • Extensive cold calling into global markets
  • Successfully qualifies and prospects for new accounts
  • Ability to meet or exceed quotas for GP margin, outbound calls, phone time, etc.
  • Coordinates sales efforts with purchasing team, cost manager, testing and shipping team

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of recent sales or customer service experience
  • Must be able to work EARLY morning hours
  • Excellent communication and phone skills
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet goals and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, internet and typing required
  • Foreign language skills a big PLUS (German preferred)

Buyer

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The buyer researches, evaluates, and purchases electronic components based on price, service, quality and warranty to meet the needs of VRG Components.

DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Negotiates pricing with worldwide suppliers
  • Successfully qualifies and prospects for new vendors
  • Communicates with vendors to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Prepares and processes purchasing forms
  • Maintains records of parts ordered and received
  • Works in liaison with sales team, cost manager, testing and shipping team to ensure timeliness

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of purchasing experience
  • Must be highly motivated and have a passion for purchasing and proven purchasing success with the ability to drive revenue within accounts
  • Ability to develop and maintain new accounts through relationship building and nurturing of accounts
  • Experience in consultative buying and/or selling strongly preferred (proven negotiation skills)
  • Ability to clearly articulate VRG Components business value propositions and sustain a high level of energy and activity
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet goals and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
  • Foreign language skills a big PLUS (Chinese preferred)
