Account Executive – Inside Sales

Reports to:  General Manager

Summary:  Sells electronic components to international manufacturing companies.  Responsible for developing, prospecting, servicing and nurturing a customer base with the goal of receiving purchase orders, negotiating sales variables and closing sales orders.

Responsible for meeting or exceeding the performance standards set forth by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sell electronic components to new and existing customers by following policies and procedures developed by VRG, as directed by management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer in order to engage the assigned customer to identify needs for and to promote VRG Components products, services and capabilities.
  • Qualify and prospect for new accounts.  Maintain and expand database of prospects within the assigned territory.
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow up and outbound cold calls and emails.
  • Develop and execute a winning sales strategy by listening to and understanding the customer’s business needs.
  • Develop sales plans and tactics in order to consistently achieve or exceed an assigned monthly sales objective.
  • Maintain accurate customer data, ensuring all relevant and correct information is logged into the HubSpot CRM.
  • Coordinates sales efforts with Purchasing & Logistics.


  • Proven inside sales experience in the Electronic Components industry
  • Strong phone presence and experience making dozens of calls per day
  • Ability to meet or exceed quotas for GP margin, outbound calls and phone time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Must be coachable
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Education/Experience:  Candidates are required to have an Associate’s degree (AA / AS / ABA / ABS) from a two-year college or university and at least 5 years of industry specific sales experience.

Language Ability:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
